Help Catalytic Communities Win $25k to Empower Rio's Favelas at Risk from the 2016 Olympics 12/10/2009
The following came into my e-mail the other day. I really like these folks and what they are trying to do, so I'm passing along the information here. Take a couple of minutes and vote. Promising news! But we need you more than ever. The Chase Foundation has decided to let the general public decide how they spend their $5m in annual giving this year. Quite a revolution! The top 100 vote-getters BY THIS FRIDAY, December 11th, win $25,000. Please VOTE for CatComm. You just have to accept the application, become a fan, and vote. The application is built into Facebook so it´s super easy to do. And if you send us a screenshot of your vote, and if we win, you´ll be entered into a raffle to win a round-trip ticket to Rio de Janeiro to see our work in person in 2010! The odds are better than Ideablob, the reward is bigger, and the voting simpler. If we win we´ll be training 200 community leaders from across Rio de Janeiro´s favelas in 2010 in social media and creating a central newssite through which to share their stories. We already have over 200 votes, but need 1500 by Friday to guarantee victory. If everyone receiving this votes, we win. Click here to watch my update about this Cause in a short video. Not on Facebook? Please forward this message to 10 friends that are, asking them to vote by Friday. On Facebook? Fabulous! Please VOTE NOW then volunteer 15 minutes and help us in the following ways: 1st - Make personal asks to Facebook friends via chat. You can use the short address http://chase.catcomm.org. 2nd - Make personal asks to Facebook friends by posting a link to their Walls. Just remember to start the message with their names as that increases the likelihood they´ll vote. 3rd - Invite friends to vote by using the "Invite Friends" option at the bottom of the voting page. 4th - Contact friends who have already voted, but not yet for CatComm asking them for one of their votes (everyone is given 20). Do this by going to "Activity" at the top of the voting page where you´ll see how your friends have been voting. Then please consider voting for some of our friends, too (they are asking their voters to do the same): WiserEarth (NCI) | Kabissa--Africa | Atlas Service Corps | YouthVenture On behalf of hundreds of communities across Rio, thank you for your help in ensuring their voices are heard! Warmly, Theresa Williamson & the ROAR Working Group www.catcomm.org CommentsLeave a Reply |
